It rained today, slightly putting a damper on things, though we did still enjoy ourselves. We also had some early adventures with an uncooperative ATM, which (combined with the rain) started the day on a somewhat sour note. But we survived, and met the group for our second 'class day.' We first saw the imperial fora (including the forum of Julius Caesar) and Trajan's Markets (including several cute kitties), as well as Trajan's Column. All of these sights were located right next to the old center and forum we visited yesterday. We also saw a group of probably high school or early college-aged people, many of whom were wearing Minnesota apparel including even University of Minnesota shirts. So we creepily stalked them for a while to see if we recognized the leader of the group as a University of Minnesota professor--no luck, though. After that, we had a quick lunch before spending the afternoon at the Capitoline Museum. The Museum houses many of Rome's more famous images and statues, including the suckling Romulus and Remus, the 'Dying Gaul,' and the head and hand of Constantine. They also played inspiring music in several of the galleries, which actually somewhat enhanced the overall museum experience (weird as that may seem). Many good pictures were taken there and it was one of the more amazing museums we've ever been in. After many hours there, we retreated back to our hotel again for a quick rest before heading out for yet another delicious group dinner (though none have yet replicated the amazingness of our first night's dinner). We capped our night by again going out for gelatto with the group. Having gelatto in Rome is like getting pizza in New York, but having it in January is probably nothing compared with having it in the summer."
