June...here and gone

So, we've been quite bad at blogging lately. This is mainly because we are students and we've found ourselves with just weeks left to complete our Master's dissertations before heading back to the US. We've been work, work, working like crazy, but now our work is almost done. In a few days we'll turn in our dissertations and hopefully receive our degrees in a few months! It's been a lot of work but hopefully the work will pay off. However, now we've got a bit of time to finish up on the blogs that we've been neglecting for the past month or so. June came and went without a blog for the most part. We didn't really do anything particularly exciting for most of the month, but we did realize at a certain point that we were leaving Newcastle soon and that we really didn't have too many pictures of the city we called home for 10 months. A few walks around town later and now we've got a few. In terms of pictures, that's about it. Other highlights of the month included a visit to the Hoppings (the largest travelling fair in Europe) and an Archaeology post-grad 'boat cruise' that consisted of 40 of us cramming into a small boat the size of the room I'm sitting in now and jetting down the Tyne through a classic English rain...not exactly an Aegean cruise, but it was still a memorable experience. After several weeks of constant dissertation work, we were rewarded with the presence of both sets of our parents and a sibling each. We were able to see a great deal (the pictures will follow soon) and it was absolutely wonderful to spend time with our families again and both show them the things we've discovered in England and go on new adventures with them. It's hard to believe but in a week we'll be in an airplane over the Atlantic...home again home again lickety split. The pictures here are from the Hoppings Fair, our walks around Newcastle, and our Tyne boat cruise. Hopefully pictures from our adventures with families will be up in the next few days too.
