Luke here...So tomorrow we head out on our big Christmas adventure. Hopefully all goes well and we don't end up lost in the Schwarzwald.
It's nice to be done (mostly) with this term and we're looking forward to a little break. We took a little walk around Newcastle today (mainly to return library books and run some pre-trip errands) and were able to take some pictures of the city and its Christmas decorations (and also one of the famous fleet of street sweepers almost killing us). We also perused a Christmas market that is held here, as a bit of an appetizer for what is to come. We probably won't have easy computer access for much of the trip, but we'll take plenty of pictures and write down memorable experiences with the view to publish blog recaps with pictures when we get back. We'll return on December 30...only to head out for Rome on January 11...hopefully we'll get pictures and stories up in that time.
